While events can happen anywhere inside and outside of Gorton, many events take place in the John & Nancy Hughes Theater and the Stuart Community Room. The John & Nancy Hughes Theater is the cultural heart of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff. Gorton offers a robust children’s theater program (PASTA); CENTERSTAGE in Lake Forest, a community theater group for all ages, performs in the space; and the theater hosts performing arts organizations including local symphonies, dance studios, music recitals and Lake Forest College music performances, as well as live music and special family events. And, it houses a state of the art cinema system that allows Gorton’s film programs to continue to grow. The Stuart Community Room is a flexible space that can accommodate up to 125 attendees and hosts many smaller concerts, lectures, luncheons, children’s presentations and more. It is equipped with projection and screen equipment and an excellent sound system. Both the John & Nancy Hughes Theater and the Stuart Community Room are equipped with Hearing Loop technology.
