New Media: Chicago Summer Stories (Middle School)
THIS CAMP HAS SOLD OUT! PLEASE CONTACT LIBBY JOHNSON TO BE ADDED TO THE WAIT LIST – Libby@gortoncenter.org
Chicago Summer Stories is a unique camp opportunity for middle school students to learn the video storytelling process with the iPhones in their pockets. Through hands-on experiential learning, students get to collaborate, create and edit from the first day of class.
High School mentors from LFHS New Media, along with Middle School media teachers team up and have fun creating meaningful media that builds a life long understanding of how stories are created and told.
This camp runs Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 21 (2 weeks), 9:00am – 2:00pm
Ages: 11 – 14 Years Old
Chicago Summer Stories is in its sixth year and has evolved to engage creators of different ages, mentored by professionals in the industry and facilitated by familiar faces in the community. Students will use iPhones and MacBook Pros to capture and finish their editing using Final Cut Pro. For more information on previous experiences, go to www.chicagosummerstories.com
