Indentity, Fashion & Aspirational Portraiture: Teen Art Camp with Joalida Smit
This camp runs Monday, July 24 – 28, 9:00am – 12:00pm
In this course we will explore identity – who we are & who we want to be – through contemporary portraiture. Focusing on pattern, texture & design we will construct a portrait of our aspirational future self, drawing inspiration from images around us.
Your teen will learn to express themselves through art, using collage and mixed media to eventually construct an art work that tells a story in their own unique voice.
Ages: 12 – 18 Years Old
Joalida Smit is a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist turned full time artist. Through these fun workshops she brings together her two passions: art and psychology, assisting teens to think about their full creative selves. This course is open to all teens. LGBTQ friendly. This is not art therapy but using art to tell stories of psychological significance. www.joalidasmit.com
