Gorton Center will host two screenings of Dear Mr. Brody on Thursday, November 4 at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm

Gorton Center, a community center located in Lake Forest, IL is proud to announce that it will be rolling out the red carpet when it hosts the opening night film for the Lake County Film Festival as part of our First Thursday Film Series.

In Dear Mr. Brody, Filmmaker Keith Maitland reveals the story of Michael Brody Jr., a 21-year-old hippie-millionaire who  decided to give away his $25-million fortune to anyone in need and ignited a psychedelic spiral of events. Instant celebrities, Brody and his wife Renee, were mobbed by the public, scrutinized by the press, and overwhelmed by the crush of personal letters responding to his extraordinary offer. Fifty years later, an enormous cache of these letters are discovered—unopened. In this riveting follow-up to 2016’s TOWER, award-winning director Keith Maitland reveals the incredible story of Michael Brody Jr.—and the countless struggling Americans who sought his help—to create a deeply moving meditation on desire, need, philanthropy, and love.

The Lake County Film Festival continues through November 15 at various locations in Lake County. For more information on the other films that are part of the Lake County Film Festival visit https://lakecountyfilmfestival.org/ or contact Festival Director Nat Dykeman at nat.dykeman@nullgmail.com
