Gorton CenterMusical maverick and Billboard-charting singer-songwriter Tom Fuller is a man at a creative crossroads. His passionate career journey to create impactful, emotional songs continues, but with significant changes as showcased in his intimate, soon-to-be-released sixth album, Straight From The Heart. Always the artistic innovator, Fuller stripped down past rockers and ballads he wrote down to their core, reinventing them as intimate acoustic-based love songs, plus Tom has written a few new tunes.
On Friday, October 20th at the Gorton Center’s John and Nancy Hughes Theater in Lake Forest, IL, Tom Fuller will perform a number of these new solo acoustic songs during his first set. Then in the second set, Tom will lead his top-notch, full electric band performing his hit songs and fan favorites from Fuller’s 30-year career. While Fuller has performed all over the world at numerous famous music venues, this concert will also be very special for another reason: Lake Forest is now Tom’s new hometown.
Pop-rocker Fuller’s career accomplishments include the Billboard charting single “Doin’ Nothin’” in 2019 followed by his acclaimed Waterfall album that contained two more Billboard-charting hit singles in 2020 – “Forever I’m Yours” and the title track “Waterfall.”
Overall, Tom Fuller’s songs embrace his very personal lyrics that engage, uplift and resonate with passion, truth and a lot of heart. His outstanding Rock/Pop/AC music has broad universal appeal, with rabid fanbases spread throughout the United States, United Kingdom and Europe. Tom has recorded in the past with members of Paul McCartney’s band, Brian Ray and Abe Laboriel, Jr., plus with a Grammy-award-winning producer on various earlier projects.
With his rockin’ five-piece band, Tom Fuller has performed all over the world at iconic music venues, such as the Paradiso in Amsterdam, Gruenspan in Hamburg, Cavern Club in Liverpool, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, La Maroquinerie in Paris, plus the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, various House of Blues and other classic U.S. musical venues in countless cities. Fuller and his bandmates have also performed at legendary festivals including Milwaukee’s Summerfest numerous times. Impressively, Tom and his band have toured with Little Feat, Trampled by Turtles, Tesla and others, plus played gigs with other chart-topping bands and incredible artists including Soul Asylum, Guess Who, Blues Traveler, Rusted Root, Robin Trower, and UFO, among many others. Tom Fuller often says, “Music is my passion and destiny.”
After a break during the COVID pandemic, Tom’s musical and life journey continues, and he is excited to exclaim, “The man is back in action and I’m more than ready to share my new/old love songs and classic rockin’ tunes with you all!! I hope to see you at the Gorton Center!!”
