The Sanctity of SpaceLocation
This year’s WINTERFEST opening night feature is The Santity of Space. Climbers and filmmakers Renan Ozturk and Freddie Wilkinson follow the path of legendary mountaineer and aerial photographer Bradford Washburn. His iconic images of Alaska spark their journey and set the stakes. They cross massive glaciers and razor-edged ridges, chasing the same awe that fueled Washburn’s work. Along the way, they push deeper into the Alaskan wilderness and test their limits. Their goal is bold and untried: a complete traverse of the Mooses Tooth massif. The Sanctity of Space captures the pull of wild places, the power of inspiration, and the relentless urge to explore. Consider purchasing a festival pass to enjoy everything the weekend has to offer!
Winterfest is co-presented by the Gorton Center and Lake Forest Open Lands and is sponsored by The Community Church of Lake Forest & Lake Bluff.
