“You talk to me about vengeance. Is vengeance going to bring your son back to you? Or my boy to me?”

CITADEL THEATRE SERIES PRESENTS:

In 1940s New York, tensions between the Five Families reach a breaking point, and a complicated series of murders and revenge plots spiral out of control. As the city falls into hysteria, the aging patriarch of the Corleone family must attempt to appoint his unwilling successor.

This critically acclaimed, classic 1972 cinema gem won the academy awards for best picture, best actor, and best adapted screenplay, among others.

The Godfather shares many themes with Citadel Theater’s THE LITTLE FOXES, Lillian Hellman’s searing tale of family betrayal and corruption. This milestone in American theater is a riveting unsentimental portrait of a bygone era that still holds timely resonance even today. Make sure to see one of the great American morality plays of all time when it hits the Citadel stage for the first time. Running Fri, Sep 28th through Sun, Oct 28, 2018 – more information and tickets can be found here.

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola
Starring an ensemble cast with notables Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, & Robert Duvall
