Give us 2 hours and we will teach you how to defend yourself. It is one of the easiest to learn and most effective self-defense systems that you will find anywhere. The techniques that we teach will stop an attacker immediately. They are easy to learn and use, don’t require constant practice or years of training to master, and they will work regardless of your age; size; strength; gender; speed; skill; physical ability or disabilities. You will work with a partner to learn the techniques taught in our class which include defenses against armed and unarmed attackers; single/multiple attackers; standing, sitting and ground techniques; and rape defense/prevention. You will learn how to anticipate and avoid potentially dangerous situations and how to defend yourself from a physical attack including: grabs, punches, chokes, bear hugs, headlocks, kicks, knives, guns and more from a much larger and stronger attacker.
About the Program and Instructor:
The Brave Way was started over 20 years ago. It was originally taught to law enforcement officers and has since expanded to teaching schools, hospitals, businesses, scout troops, religious organizations, real estate agents, senior living communities, park districts and so many others over the years. Our instructors have mixed martial arts backgrounds and hold multiple black belts in various styles. Our lead instructor is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and has over 40 years of self-defense and combat training experience. Our goal is to teach as many people as we can to protect themselves and their families. All of our classes follow Covid-19 Safety Guidelines.
Gorton Center prioritizes the health and safety of both patrons and staff throughout our building:
