PIRATES & MERMAIDS
Ahoy, mateys and sea adventurers! Set sail on a theatrical journey filled with treasure maps, mysterious islands, mermaids, pirates, and ocean adventures. In this imaginative musical theater class, students will sing, act, move, and create as they explore the exciting world beneath and beyond the waves.
Young performers will enjoy songs inspired by favorite ocean-themed stories and movies, including selections such as “Under the Sea,” “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and pirate-themed songs inspired by swashbuckling adventures. Through theater games, storytelling activities, creative movement, and character-building exercises, students will develop foundational acting, movement, and performance skills while strengthening their confidence, creativity, and ability to work as part of an ensemble.
Students will explore basic acting concepts, stage presence, and simple choreography in a fun, supportive environment designed to spark imagination and encourage self-expression.
Demonstration: The session culminates in a demonstration for family and friends. The demonstration consists of a selection of games, exercises, and songs designed to provide insight into the skills acquired during the session. Songs are rehearsed and presented in one large group or multiple small groups and include simple choreography.
No prior experience is necessary—just bring your imagination and a sense of adventure!
