MOVIE MUSICALS

Lights, camera, action! In this exciting musical theater class, students explore scenes and songs from some of the most popular movie musicals of the past and present. From larger-than-life characters to memorable musical numbers, performers will develop acting, singing, and storytelling skills while bringing favorite cinematic moments to life on stage.

Students will work with material inspired by beloved movie musicals such as The Greatest Showman, High School Musical, Descendants, Newsies, Hairspray, and more. Through scene study, song rehearsal, character development, and simple choreography, students will strengthen their confidence and performance technique in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Class activities focus on ensemble work, stage presence, vocal expression, and creating believable characters while exploring the unique storytelling style of movie musicals. Students will have opportunities to contribute ideas and help shape the material explored during the session.

Presentation: The session culminates in a final presentation for family and friends. This Level Two presentation consists of scenes and songs from well-known sources that have been rehearsed throughout the session. Songs are presented in one large group or multiple small groups and include simple choreography.

This class is ideal for students who enjoy singing, acting, and bringing favorite movie moments to life.
