Tonight I Am My Mother is a comedic character piece written and performed by Liz Allen. Liz looks back at her relationship with her mother, a charming southern woman raised on the coast of North Carolina, with weaknesses for Carolina Joy (aka bourbon punch) and a husband with a wandering eye. Liz shares how she and her siblings – as adults – return to their parents home for a holiday gathering, and an unexpected event affects the Allen family forever. In Tonight I Am My Mother, Liz examines her role in the family, her North Carolina upbringing, wisdom from squirrels, some physics, and Oprah’s teachings.
No foul language; mature themes abound.
Run time: 70 mins
LIz Allen is a 30-year veteran improviser, improv teacher and director.
