Eight-year-old Kevin McAllister is ready for Christmas, but his family is in chaos. Relatives fill the house. Arguments break out. In the rush to leave for a holiday trip to France, Kevin is overlooked. He wakes up to discover the unthinkable. His entire family is gone.
At first, Kevin celebrates; No rules, no siblings. no parents telling him what to do. But the excitement fades when he realizes he’s home alone in suburban Chicago, and danger is just around the corner. Two burglars, Harry and Marv, are working their way through the neighborhood. Their next target – Kevin’s house.
Kevin refuses to be a victim. He sets traps. He outsmarts the bumbling crooks at every turn. What begins as a child’s worst nightmare quickly becomes a test of courage and creativity.
Meanwhile, Kevin’s mother, Kate, panics when she discovers the mistake. She’s desperate to return to her son. Flights are delayed. Options run out. She accepts help from an unlikely ally – kindhearted polka band leader Gus Polinski. Together, they race to get her back to Chicago.
Kevin battles burglars. Kate battles time. Both fight to be reunited, proving that even at Christmas, home is where the heart – and the family – truly belong.
