Sonja Kassebaum, the North Shore Distillery’s chief cocktail nerd, will share great new recipes for your holiday celebrations, whether small or large! We’ll discuss welcome cocktails, cocktail-food pairing ideas, brunch cocktails and after-dinner drink ideas, and we’ll use a variety of spirits, mixers, fruits, herbs and spices. The class includes instruction, recipes, tips for serving cocktails at parties & samples. *Must be 21 to attend.
Sonja Kassebaum is the Co-Owner and Co-founder of North Shore Distillery, located in nearby Green Oaks, Illinois. North Shore is the original craft distillery in Illinois, opening at a time when there were just a few dozen craft distilleries in the United States. Sonja loves making spirits and cocktails of all kinds, and enjoys sharing them with others, including the history, tools and techniques involved in making them. Sonja is a published author on the subject of cocktails and cocktail culture, and has spoken to groups across the Midwest about cocktail history, cocktail making and Chicago cocktail culture. She has been mentioned in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Forbes, Daily Herald and Edible Chicago, among others, and has repeatedly been named to New City’s Big Heat list of the 50 most influential people in Chicago food and drink. In 2020, Sonja was named one of “Eight Women who Changed Gin History” by Wine Enthusiast. Sonja is the lead creative force behind North Shore Distillery’s tasting room cocktail program, events and classes.

Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the first week of class of any session. (The refund period for some classes, which require advanced reservations or purchase of materials, may be more limited.) Cancellations will incur a $5 handling fee for programs costing under $100 and a 10% handling fee for programs with fees of $100 or more. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified, and a full refund will be given.
If this class does not meet the minimum participation requirement, you will be notified of the cancellation within one week of the start date.
