Gorton CenterEN GARDE. PRÊT? ALLEZ! The Olympic sport of fencing demands quick thinking, agility, poise and speed. Fencing also develops discipline, respect, maturity and good sportsmanship, qualities that carry through to our every day life. This class is for those new to fencing or those who would like to work on the basic fencing skills. This class will cover basic rules, etiquette, footwork, attacks and defenses. Classes will consist of warm-up, footwork, group lesson and bouting.
This class runs on Mondays, April 11 – May 16, 5:00pm – 6:00pm
– For Ages: 7 – 14 Years Old
-This class does NOT allow drop-ins. All participants must pre-register.
– The instructor will provide equipment each week. If you have already purchased equipment, you may use that as well. And, if you would like to purchase your own equipment, information is below:
Absolute Fencing Gear – Fencing Equipment
Equipment needed is : (MASK) AF Epee Mask Standard and (GLOVE) Absolute Standard 3-W Washable Glove.
Gorton Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.
Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the first week of class of any session. (The refund period for some classes, which require advanced reservations or purchase of materials, may be more limited.) Cancellations will incur a $5 handling fee for programs costing under $100 and a 10% handling fee for programs with fees of $100 or more. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified, and a full refund will be given.
If this class does not meet the minimum participation requirement, you will be notified of the cancellation within one week of the start date.
