Still staring at white paint samples? You’re not alone. Choosing the right paint color can quickly feel overwhelming. However, it doesn’t have to be.

Join local interior designer Susan Sands for a fun and informative workshop. Susan will share the techniques professionals use to choose paint colors with confidence. You’ll learn how to narrow your options and find colors that truly work in your home.

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover:

  • The best whites and neutrals: Learn which shades work well and how to choose between warm and cool tones.
  • How lighting changes color: See how natural and artificial light can completely transform a paint color.
  • How to create whole-house color flow: Choose colors that connect your rooms and create a cohesive look.
  • Common mistakes to avoid: Learn what can go wrong before you commit to gallons of paint.

Susan will also share practical designer tips you can use for future decorating projects. Whether you’re refreshing one room or planning a whole-home update, you’ll leave with a clearer vision.

Best of all, you’ll get the chance to see and compare colors in a relaxed setting. Ask questions, explore new possibilities, and finally move beyond those endless tiny paint chips.

Each participant will take home large paper samples of favorite Benjamin Moore paint colors. Susan will also help you select hand-picked shades to try in your own space.

Gorton offers financial assistance and flexible payment options to individuals who may be unable to afford standard program fees. This support ensures that everyone has the opportunity to participate in meaningful learning and cultural enrichment experiences. Applications are reviewed based on demonstrated financial need.

Gorton Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.

Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the first week of class of any session. (The refund period for some classes, which require advanced reservations or purchase of materials, may be more limited.) Cancellations will incur a $5 handling fee for programs costing under $100 and a 10% handling fee for programs with fees of $100 or more. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified, and a full refund will be given.

If this class does not meet the minimum participation requirement, you will be notified of the cancellation within one week of the start date.
