In this eight-week acting class for adults, you’ll dive into the principles of Method Acting while using improvisation to develop original scenes. Each two-hour session offers the opportunity to explore and sharpen your craft—whether you’re a beginner looking to build confidence or an experienced actor wanting to deepen your skills.
The scenes created in class will be filmed, and participants who wish to may use this footage to build or update their demo reels. Additionally, the material generated may serve as the spark for future film projects—just as The Joy of Mary, our 21 minute original comedic short film produced in spring 2025 at Gorton, grew out of a similar creative process. The Joy of Mary has been submitted to Chicago area film festivals. Watch a short clip from The Joy of Mary.
Come to explore, create, and progress—with the possibility of seeing your work come to life beyond the classroom.
