Intro to Acting Class for Adults

Have you always been curious about acting but weren’t sure how to begin? This supportive, beginner-friendly class is the perfect first step. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, step out of your comfort zone, or explore a potential career in acting, you’ll learn the fundamentals through basic script and scene analysis, improvisation, and exercises that develop presence on stage and screen.

Take the first step toward discovering your creative voice—you might be surprised where it leads!

Jeremy Kruse, Artistic Director of Gorton Drama Studio, is the author of “The Young Actor’s Handbook” (Applause Acting Series, 2017).The book was published in Korean and Chinese in 2022. Jeremy is a professional actor, published playwright, award-winning screenwriter, and award-winning filmmaker. Some of the classes he taught at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York include Method Acting, Comedic Improvisation, Sketch Comedy Writing, and Acting for Film and TV. He graduated from The Strasberg Institute at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he majored in drama. Refunds will only be given up to one week prior to the first week of class of any session. (The refund period for some classes, which require advanced reservations or purchase of materials, may be more limited.) Cancellations will incur a $5 handling fee for programs costing under $100 and a 10% handling fee for programs with fees of $100 or more. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified, and a full refund will be given.
