Seeds of Wellness offers a dynamic series of classes that introduce children to what it means to be well. Kids explore wellness through movement, games, activities, and play. They discover different facets of well-being and learn strategies to regulate their emotions and understand themselves.
Each session begins with deep breathing and reflection. We then move into fun exercises and energizing movement. During the first hour, students focus on one wellness dimension and create hands-on artifacts. In the second hour, they explore a new dimension and end with a peaceful closing. Day two follows the same rhythm and structure.
Students learn about interpersonal, spiritual, environmental, physical, and nutritional wellness. Some activities take place outdoors, so please send your child prepared for the weather.
Ages: 1st & 2nd Grades
Jessica Volpe is a national board certified health and wellness coach and has been teaching in the school district for nearly 25 years. She saw a need to help children understand what it means to be well beyond social emotional learning and help children develop the tools to learn about how to care for themselves and the world around them.
