Embark on an unforgettable journey with our “Queen: We Will Rock You” Summer Musical Theater Camp, where the legendary music of Queen becomes the soundtrack to your theatrical adventure. Audition for iconic roles and immerse yourself in the exhilarating script, preparing to bring the energy and magic of Queen’s music to life on stage.

Guided by the expertise of Jeremy Kruse, the author of “The Young Actor’s Handbook,” and under the direction of Madison Kisst, renowned for her success with “The Wizard of Oz,” this camp is designed for both seasoned performers and those taking their first steps into the world of acting. Whether you’re a veteran actor or a novice, you’ll find a welcoming and supportive environment to nurture your talents.

Camp consists of acting, singing, dancing, and audition classes. Basic and advanced principles of acting, singing and dance are introduced and explored. All students will audition for and be cast in “Queen: We Will Rock You” that will be rehearsed for the remainder of camp and performed five times at the end of camp in The John and Nancy Hughes Theater. After the last performance, there will be a cast party! This is a great opportunity for seasoned actors and first-timers.

  • Week 2 – July 22 – July 26 
    • 9am to 3pm
  • Week 3 – July 29 – August 2 
    • 9am to 3pm
  • No camp August 5 
  • Week 4 – August 6, 7 & 8
    • 11am, 12:30am, 11am (respectively) performances for other local camps and groups. 
  • Week 4 – August 9 and 10 
    • 6pm performance and 1pm performance for the general public. 
About Our Artistic Director:

Jeremy Kruse, Artistic Director of Gorton Drama Studio is the author of “The Young Actor’s Handbook” (Applause Acting Series, 2017).The book was published in Korean and Chinese in 2022. Jeremy is a professional actor, published playwright, award-winning screenwriter, and award-winning filmmaker. Some of the classes he taught at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York include Method Acting, Comedic Improvisation, Sketch Comedy Writing, and Acting for Film and TV. He graduated from The Strasberg Institute at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he majored in drama. Jeremy also teaches privately, one on one  www.jeremykruse.com and www.jeremykruseactingtraining.com 

Director, Madison Kisst is an actor, director, and theatre teacher. She has taught for professional theater companies across the country and for the undergraduate acting program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Madison has extensive training in physical and classical theatre, voice and movement, and devising. As an actor, some of her credits include: American Repertory Theater, Lyric Repertory Company, The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Nevada Conservatory Theater, and Santa Cruz Shakespeare. She has her BA in Theatre Arts and Master of Fine Arts in Performance.
