Gorton Center – John & Nancy Hughes TheaterJoin us at Gorton Center for a magical movie screening featuring Into the Woods. Directed by Rob Marshall, this film brings a fresh twist to classic fairy tales. The story follows a baker and his wife, who are cursed by a witch. To break the curse, they must gather magical items from familiar fairy tales. These items will help them undo the curse on their family tree, but the journey isn’t easy.
As they enter the woods, they meet characters like Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack. Each of these characters is dealing with their own dreams and struggles. Their paths cross in unexpected ways, making the journey even more complicated. The couple’s adventure intertwines with the stories of these classic fairy tale characters, creating a rich, interconnected world.
The music is a standout, with catchy songs that stay with you long after the movie ends. The film’s stunning visuals and magical moments add to the enchantment, making it an unforgettable experience.
Into the Woods is not just a musical adventure. It explores deeper themes of choice, consequence, and the complex nature of wishes. It asks questions about what happens when dreams come true and the price that comes with them.
