Melissa MacTaggart: I have a multi layered background in writing and the performing arts. Having worked in many different areas of the theatre world as an actor, producer, director, playwright, theatre company creative director and drama teacher, I bring a rich and diverse experience to my work. I have been a freelance writer for the past twenty-five years and I have worked in many different writing genres. I wrote and produced two new plays which were part of the ‘Beverly Hills Live’ summer season in Los Angeles. I had a bi-monthly column, ‘Urban Suburban,’ for Chicagolands Sun-Times newspaper. I was a ghostwriter for an online magazine for nine years and wrote articles on gardening, environmental issues and eco awareness in the home. I have written for the Daily Herald Chicago and created content for websites. I have worked as a lyricist and song writer. I signed a book deal with IOM Media in 2022 for my youth novel, the publishing release date is September 2025. My passion for words has shaped and carried me forward throughout my life.
