The Lake County Film Festival returns for its milestone 15th edition, bringing an exciting and diverse slate of films to local audiences from September 4–7 and September 12–15, 2025. The festival will screen more than 134 films, including 17 feature-length films and over 120 short films from around the world.

Gorton Center and First Thursday Series is proud to be hosting the opening night feature film, “Color Book”!

A devoted single father adjusts to life after his wife’s passing while raising his son with Down Syndrome. They embark on a journey through Metro Atlanta to attend their first baseball game.

Gorton Center houses the beautiful John and Nancy Hughes Theater featuring professional sound, light, video, and digital cinema technology. The 309-seat theater is a wonderful space to watch a film - we offer a wide variety - ranging from classics from the past to newer releases, documentary films and festivals, kids and family movies, and we screen John Hughes movies several times a year.
