“Here’s looking at you, kid.”

An undisputed masterpiece and perhaps Hollywood’s quintessential statement on love and romance, Casablanca has only improved with age, boasting career-defining performances from Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

In the early days of WWII, expatriate Rick Blaine runs a nightclub in the dangerous and thrilling Moroccan town of Casablanca, but secretly he also provides safe haven for a group of refugees fleeing the country to the United States while they wait for transit letters which will guarantee them passage. But when his former lover, Ilsa, and her husband show up at his Cafe, Rick must make some quick and risky decisions which put him and his entire operation in jeprody, all while the inevitable fog of the second world war rolls across Europe and into Africa.

Casablanca won the academy awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Directed by Michael Curtiz
Starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid and Claude Rains
