Sound bath meditation is a practice that involves immersing oneself in soothing and harmonic sounds to promote relaxation, deep meditation, and overall well-being. Practitioner Joi Hunt plays a variety of instruments to create a sonic environment that envelops participants – including crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other sound-making tools.
The vibrations and frequencies produced by the instruments in a sound bath are believed to have a positive effect on the body and mind. It is thought that these vibrations can help to induce a state of deep relaxation, release tension and stress, balance energy, and promote a sense of harmony and well-being.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, a small pillow, and anything else you need for comfort while lying down, like a blanket and bolster pillow.
Instructor Joi Hunt: Joi Hunt is a Lake Forest resident, a professional calligrapher, and a Certified Sound Wellness Practitioner. Joi plays quartz crystal singing bowls and Himalayan bowls in her melodic sound baths.
