Gorton is thrilled to host Lake Forest resident Matt Kiesling, author of the hit children’s book, “Don’t Eat That” for a book reading. Children will be able to create their own art project relating to the book in conjunction with the reading.

This book for all ages, “Don’t Eat That.”, shares the story of two individuals with different backgrounds who, through caring and understanding, find a path to friendship and trust. This book puts kindness, acceptance, awareness, and empathy front seat in a playful, fun, and highly readable way.

Signed copies of the book will be sold for $25. 100% of the profits from “Don’t Eat That.” go to charities supporting the growth of literacy, improving health, and expanding access to the arts.

At a minimum, it’s a book made to bring joy to all who open the cover. At a maximum, it hopes to help make the world a better place for everyone in it…and yes, that includes the penguins and the polar bears, too.

Please purchase one ticket per child to attend the reading; this cost covers the cost of the art supplies. Adults are free to attend. Event will take place in the Friends Room on the second floor.

Children 5 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.
