At Gorton Children’s Learning Center, we believe early childhood is full of possibility – and every day is a chance to discover something new.
We offer flexible care and early education for children ages six weeks to five years, all within the creative, community-centered environment of Gorton Center. Here, children are surrounded by opportunities to explore, imagine, and grow through meaningful experiences.
Our bright, welcoming space includes three age-specific classrooms and a private playground designed for movement, play, and connection. Each year, more than 100 families choose CLC for a program that feels both personal and inspiring.
We keep our class sizes small and our relationships strong. Children are grouped by age and guided by caring, attentive teachers who support their development every step of the way – always in accordance with DCFS standards.
At CLC, we’re not just caring for children – we’re helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Enrollment Steps
- Pay the enrollment fee and choose the option best suited for your family.
- Email your standing reservation request to the CLC director.
- You will receive confirmation of your reservation within one business day.
- Print the enrollment packet and complete the registration packet. Print and fill out DHS medical form and lead questionnaire. Make a copy of each child’s birth certificate.
- Drop off all of the completed forms to the CLC director for review.
- Arrive at your designated time and day to drop off your child for care.
PARENT HANDBOOK
We have prepared a useful handbook that includes the Children’s Learning Center’s background, policies, and helpful information.
CAMP PROGRAMS
Camp Gorton runs for 4 weeks (2 sessions to choose from) during the summer.
CHILD / TEACHER RATIOS
Infants (6 weeks-15 months): 4:1
Toddlers (15-24 months): 5:1
2 year-olds: 8:1
3-5 year-olds: 10:1
OUR APPROACH
Our curriculum, Learning Beyond, is built on the idea that children learn best through exploration, relationships, and hands-on experiences.
Through guided play and intentional teaching, we support:
- Social and emotional growth
- Language and communication
- Creative thinking and problem-solving
- Independence and confidence
Every day, children are encouraged to ask questions, try new things, and connect with the world around them.
HOURS AND CALENDAR
- Monday–Friday, 8 am–4 pm
- Follows District 67 school calendar
- Closed on major school holidays
- Summer Camp Gorton sessions available
TUITION AND FEES
- Annual enrollment fee: $225 (one child) / $275 (family)
- 15% sibling discount available
- Tuition is based on age group and schedule

HEALTH AND WELLNESS
The health and safety of our children is our top priority. We follow DCFS guidelines and partner with families to maintain a healthy environment for everyone.
If your child is not feeling well, we ask that they stay home to help protect our community. Additional health policies are outlined in our Parent Handbook.
