Throughout history, women have played important roles in the production, and the consumption, of alcoholic beverages around the world. In this class, we’ll walk through the history of alcohol from ancient times to today, and we’ll discuss some incredible women and their contributions to cocktails and spirits. We’ll touch on brewing and winemaking, but most of our time will be spent on cocktails and spirits. Class will feature a few cocktail and spirit samples made with products from North Shore Distillery, the oldest craft distillery in Illinois, and will be taught by their Chief Cocktail Nerd, Sonja Kassebaum.
