In this course we will focus on the proper techniques and posture for writing using a dip pen and ink starting with the basics, moving to letter formation with a focus on hairline and broad strokes, then working up to basic flourishing.
Advanced students will work on utilizing dip pen as a tool for drawing and watercolor painting. We will culminate the course by producing a letter or written art for someone else using the skills of dip pen and ink calligraphy learned in the course and sharing it with them.
The prerequisite for this class is Calligraphy 101 or students must pass a brief written exam in which they showcase their capabilities to write in modern and Engrossers script calligraphy.
This class runs on Wednesdays, April 6 – May 25, 6:00pm – 7:30pm
All ages welcome! Supplies are included.
