Gorton Center – John & Nancy Hughes Theater
Stand with Ukraine through Film exists to raise funds to assist Ukrainians in and near Ukraine who are suffering as a result of the Russian invasion of their homeland.
THE GUIDE was shot in 2012 by Ukrainians and released in Ukraine in 2014. It was not released theatrically in the US or Western European countries.
The story of this two-hour drama is set in the 1930s and revolves around an American boy who is visiting Ukraine with his father. Young Peter becomes caught up in events connected to Soviet efforts to exterminate millions of Ukrainians.
The director of THE GUIDE is Oles Sanin, a leading figure in what has become a sizable Ukrainian film industry. Sanin has remained in Kyiv during the war.
All proceeds will go towards the Ukrainian Relief Fund. More information about how donations will be managed can be found here.
Please do not hesitate to contact Zach Vanes, Gorton’s Director of Film at zach@nullgortoncenter.org for any questions.
Gorton Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.
