Gorton Center seeks a Junior or Senior undergraduate student for a summer internship to support our design and marketing team. The SEO intern will help with search engine optimization and other marketing initiatives. SEO Intern role includes writing meta descriptions and adding key phrases and alt text to our WordPress site using original, human-written content that aligns with SEO best practices and engages our target audience.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for improving website ranking and visibility on search engines
- Optimize website content, including meta tags, headings, and URLs, to improve organic search performance, engagement, conversions, and improved click-through rates
- Monitor and analyze website traffic, rankings, and user behavior using tools such as Google Analytics
- Develop and implement strategies for on-page and off-page optimization to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings
- Ensure SEO best practices are followed in content creation and optimization
- Track and report on key SEO metrics, such as keyword rankings, organic traffic, and conversion rates
Qualifications and Skills :
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and ranking factors
- Proficiency in using tools such as Google Analytics and keyword research tools
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- Familiarity with WordPress preferred
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Critical thinker with problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Organized, diligent and detail-oriented
- Takes initiative, has a positive attitude and willingness to help team as needed
- Demonstrates professional work ethic and demeanor
- Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Suite a plus
This internship is for 8 weeks for 10-15 hours a week at $15/hour.
