DESCRIPTION:A community favorite\, our Kids Only Holiday Shop allows children ages 4-10 to shop for their loved ones without mom or dad! Santa’s Helpers/Elves (high schoolers) will escort your child through the boutique\, visiting local vendors and talented artisans who feature items $10 and under (and that includes tax). Elves will help your little one manage their money and purchases. Give your kids the gift of independence and let them experience the joy of giving by signing up to shop! SUMMARY:Band of Five (+ 4) Woodwind Celebration
DESCRIPTION:This season at Rendezvous is the first time we will have 8 musicians performing together. Deb Stevenson and Jennet Ingle\, oboe; Wagner Campos and Elizandro Garcia-Montoya\, clarinet; Jonathan Saylor and John Gaudette\, bassoon; Dan O’Connell and Anna Mayne\, horn. Our biggest Rendezvous Arts group yet! 2 oboes\, 2 clarinets\, 2 bassoons and 2 french horns!!! Here is your chance to see the woodwinds of the orchestra up close and personal! Together they will present to you one of Mozart’s own favorite compositions – his amazing C minor Serenade. The group will also play octets by Haydn and Beethoven. You’ll be intrigued by the way these very different composers can take the same basic group of instruments and make them sound unique through the different styles and color changes found in these works! \nFriday night concert timeline / Concessions for sale\, including beer & wine \n7:00-8:15 PM concert (no intermission)\n8:15-8:45 PM conversation with artists \n \nARTIST: Weriem With a passion for the performing arts\, an eye for detail\, and a love for historical elements\, Weriem likes to capture the theatricality of life. Colored pencils allow her to play with successive layers of pigments to add depth\, saturation and energy to her drawings. When she uses black ink only\, the striking contrast creates bold\, graphic compositions. In each piece\, she invites us to connect with our own imaginary theater\, with sometimes\, a soupçon of drama! \nWERIEM known as Meriem Bahri\, is a French and Tunisian artist praised for her gorgeous and evocative\, spectacular and sumptuous array of period-perfect costumes by the New York Times\, Wall Street Journal\, Chicago Tribune\, respectively. With a decade of experience designing costumes for live performances (including the Royal Swedish Opera\, the Boston Early Music Festival\, Haymarket Opera\, Opera Lafayette)\, her drawings have also been featured as projections during concerts\, CD covers\, and other commissioned illustrations. Prior to delving into the visual arts and relocating from France to her current home in Chicago\, Weriem earned a PhD in science from University de Lille. \nThis is part of the Rendezvous Arts Series

They are always a Rendezvous Arts Favorite and have sold out in the past – come and you’ll see why! \nInspired by the rhythms and melodies of flamenco\, jazz\, classical\, rock\, and the Balkan region\, this performance features the unrivaled guitar artistry of two of the finest players of their respective generations. Their music is carefully balanced between blazing virtuosity and sheer beauty. Together\, Goran Ivanovic and Fareed Haque recorded three CDs – Macedonian Blues\, 7 Boats\, and IndoBalkan – to great critical acclaim\, even getting the nod as the top best acoustic guitar albums in 2004 from Acoustic Guitar magazine. \nFriday night concert timeline\n7 – 8:15 PM concert (no intermission)\n8:15 – 8:45 PM conversation with artists\nConcessions for sale\, including beer & wine \n \n \nLiquid Mosiac Art by Inna and Alex Deriy \n\n\nInna is originally from the South Western part of  Siberia. She was born in a family of geologists and from the first days of her life was surrounded by the romanticism of scientific expeditions and the beauty of Siberian nature. Inna graduated from one of the most prestigious art schools of the region in the mid 90’s and tried herself in graphic design and jewelry making\,  participating in multiple projects and exhibitions.  In 2004 Inna relocated to the USA and married Alex Deriy\, and engineer by day and artist and musician by night. \nMoving away from home and traditional oil and pastels Inna joined her creative forces with her husband Alex. They started developing a new technique of painting with pigmented polymers and tried applying it to stone\, glass\, canvas and wood.  Stained glass look of her newly developed works slightly resembles warm and earthy collages made of natural stones that Inna’s parents used to bring back from their geological expeditions. Natural beauty of minerals has always been the couple’s main inspiration. \nThis is part of Rendezvous Arts Series \n\n \n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Join us in the comfort of our Stuart room for a musical performance by Pierce Pettis!\n\n“Pierce Pettis bares a gentle soul with a keen eye\, a soulful voice\, and perfect guitar accompaniment for his beautiful songs – a masterful poet treasure.”  — Darryl Scott\n\nCompass Records Group recording artist Pierce Pettis has been around the block a few times.  An Alabama native\, he began his career at the famous Muscle Shoals Sound Studios.  Later\, he contributed to Fast Folk Musical Magazine in New York\, recorded for Windham Hill/High Street Records in Los Angeles\, and spent a decade as a staff songwriter for Polygram and Universal Music Publishing in Nashville.  His songs have been covered by Dion\, Art Garfunkel\, Garth Brooks and Joan Baez —as well as David Wilcox\, Tim O’Brien\, Dar Williams and Claire Lynch … to name a few.  His latest album\, “Father’s Son” was released by Compass in early 2019 to widespread critical praise.  Pierce’s albums can be ordered from his website: piercepettis.com\, compassrecords.com or downloaded from iTunes\, Amazon\, etc.  During the recent lockdown\, Pierce has been busy writing and demoing over a dozen new songs he’s now showcasing since full-time touring resumed.

DESCRIPTION:Cello Concert\n  \nA little over a year ago\, Drew was playing college baseball for the University of Louisville. During his time on campus\, he realized that he had lost his love for baseball and his passion for music was growing. Throughout the past year\, he has accumulated over 330\,000 followers on Tik Tok due to his unique musical ability and passion. Drew plays music by ear and brings a new twist to a wide variety of songs and has recently released two independent original albums. Due to the influence of social media\, a majority of Drew’s supporters have come from an International audience and on April 21 and 22\, 2023 he hopes to connect with his hometown and bring his music to a local platform.
