She has worked  in several independent films\, such as “Faithful Disappointment’s”\, Market Value” and the TV true crime series “American Greed”. She completed her training at Second City\, Vagabond\, Sarantos Studios\, Wheaton Drama\, and Gorton Drama Studio. Jasmin is a dedicated actress and hard worker who is constantly looking to improve her talents. She enjoys nature walks by the lake\, bike riding\, yoga and travels to Europe.   \n\n  \n\n \nSuzie Garfield expects everyone to have stories (not just a story) to tell. As for her own background: She’s raised her 2 sons to adulthood. She’s programmed computers\, managed business projects\, learned as much as she could about other stuff\, taught as much of it as she could get to interest other people\, and always—always—told the stories about any and all of it. Now\, as a retiree from the conventional workforce\, an empty nester\, a consumer of food\, opera\, theater\, museums\, the visual arts\, and miscellaneous other adventures\, and a perpetual storyteller\, she keeps looking for and finding the next challenge\, the next thing to learn\, do\, and teach\, and the next story. \n\n  \n\n \nAfter teaching studio art and art history in high school and colleges\, Lisa Parr opened and still runs her business internationally restoring Historic Landmark antique carousels\, speaking and writing articles on them and her specialty of original paint. Additional application of her skills is for legal work\, court verifying and identifying carousel figures for insurance\, damage\, and theft for private collectors\, as well as appraisals for museums\, art dealers\, and auctions. In connection with carousel art\, Lisa pursues research in early Celtic design and mythology on site in the upper isles of Scotland. Many early Celtic and pre-Christian designs are reproduced on carousels and carousel animals. Her interest in ancient and contemporary mythology has led her to research mountain storytelling\, initiating more travel and recent storytelling\, herself. Lisa has been telling Highland Park\, Lake Forest\, and several venues in Chicago. For fun\, Lisa also restores antique wood toys and sports cars\, which she drives with vigor and nostalgia. \n

SUMMARY:Sound Bath Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Sound bath meditation is a practice that involves immersing oneself in soothing and harmonic sounds to promote relaxation\, deep meditation\, and overall well-being. Practitioner Joi Hunt plays a variety of instruments to create a sonic environment that envelops participants – including crystal singing bowls\, Tibetan singing bowls\, gongs\, chimes\, and other sound-making tools. \nThe vibrations and frequencies produced by the instruments in a sound bath are believed to have a positive effect on the body and mind. It is thought that these vibrations can help to induce a state of deep relaxation\, release tension and stress\, balance energy\, and promote a sense of harmony and well-being. \nPlease wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat\, a small pillow\, and anything else you need for comfort while lying down\, like a blanket and bolster pillow. \nJoi Hunt is a Lake Forest resident\, a professional calligrapher\, and a Certified Sound Wellness Practitioner.  Joi plays quartz crystal singing bowls and Himalayan bowls in her melodic sound baths.

Join us on Saturday evening for an unforgettable musical journey. Before the show\, indulge in our array of food trucks and savor craft brews from Lake Bluff Brewing\, available outside the theater. Explore our 50th birthday festivities held throughout the day here and make sure to catch all the action. \n Founded in 1994\, the trio rocketed to the forefront of the alt-rock explosion with their smash album\, 1998’s Platinum-certified All the Pain Money Can Buy\, featuring chart-topping “The Way.” Hailed by AllMusic as “a shimmering\, cinematic pop gem\,” and earning an RIAA Gold-certified GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal\,” the song became a global hit\, landing on the top of the charts around the world\, including Billboard’s “Modern Rock Tracks\,” positioned at #1 for seven consecutive weeks.  “Fire Escape” and “Out of My Head” followed as back-to-back hits\, with “Out of My Head” returning to the top of the worldwide charts interpolated in Machine Gun Kelly x Camila Cabello’s 5x Platinum blockbuster “Bad Things.” “Out of My Head” was recently featured in the Ted Lasso TV series. \nReleased in 2000\, The Harsh Light of Day featured the Top 40 favorite\, “You’re an Ocean\,” while in 2004 Fastball reached new heights with Keep Your Wig On\, produced in part by the late\, great Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne. Little White Lies\, released in 2009\, kept the band on the road\, touring extensively and returning eight years later in 2017 with Step Into Light\, followed by 2019’s The Help Machine\, drawing effusive praise from outlets like PopMatters\, hailing lead single “The Girl You Pretended To Be” as “pop perfection…a testament to Fastball’s enduring powers and the lure of the almighty hook.” Fastball released 2022’s The Deep End\, and non-stop touring resumed including 2023’s run alongside Gin Blossoms\, Sugar Ray\, and Tonic. Fastball’s infectious on-stage energy was captured on their first-ever full-length live LP\, 2023’s Smashed Hits. Entering their fourth decade Fastball is in full force with all new material on 2024’s Sonic Ranch and ongoing tour dates supporting the upcoming release. Fastball Nostalgia is easy. Easy money. Easy memories. And the peak-and-crash rush of the comfortable and familiar\, which fades away in an instant. Inspiration is hard. Achieving it demands vulnerability\, cooperation\, and a belief that the next thing you create could genuinely move someone’s soul. \nOver the many years together\, the men of Fastball have come to appreciate that the whole point of their careers together is building off of the trust\, creativity and just plain hard work of making inspired music together. It’s a career highlighted by the early career chart-topping success of hit single “The Way\,” which guitarist Miles Zuniga wryly remarks\, “I like to say that ‘The Way’ gave us the freedom to continue doing what we do.” \nMore about Gorton’s Birthday Party Here! \nFOOD/ DRINK VENDORS: Lake Bluff Brewery\, Hello Boba\, Mis Dos Magos\, Zhel’s Kitchen\, Toasty Cheese   \nGorton’s 50th Birthday Bash weekend is sponsored by Lake Forest Bank & Trust
