Mountainfilm on Tour: Lake Forest: Held each year on the last weekend of January, Mountainfilm Lake Forest is one of the highlights of our cinematic year. In 2023, the festival will take place on January 27th and 28th. Mountainfilm travels year-round and worldwide with a selection of current and best-loved films from the annual festival in Telluride. This year’s program includes a series of All Ages Best of Fest films, the ecologically-focused and exhilarating Adventure Shorts, and the much anticipated Mountainfilm Medley. Mountainfilm on Tour: Lake Forest is co-presented with Lake Forest Open Lands Association and sponsored by the Butler Family Foundation and The Community Church of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff.

With your pass enjoy this full length feature by Lake Forest Academy-Award Nominated Producer, Diane Quon-Surf Nation. This film tells a story beginning in Hainan, China’s southernmost province where hundreds of athletes as young as 9-years-old train as part of the Chinese National Surf team. Includes onsite Q&A!

The Mountainfilm on Tour: Adventure Shorts program provides an eclectic mix of stories about appreciating the natural world and competing in extreme sport. Like any great adventure, the program has its share of grueling climbs and breathtaking descents, as well as more contemplative moments that focus on the beauty of the wild. It’s a program that’s sure to bring out the nature lover and thrill seeker in all of us.

Mountainfilm on Tour’s most exciting stories of hiking, biking, climbing, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, and skating all in one program! An eclectic and classic film program, The Medley has plenty of big laughs, big jumps, and big friendships.
