In this fun and accessible course\, you’ll dive in and discover how to unlock its full potential step by step. \nThis class is designed for beginners as well as anyone curious to try something new. To begin\, you’ll explore the different types of watercolor pencils and papers. Next\, you’ll practice applying color both dry and wet. After that\, you’ll learn how to layer and blend effectively. Finally\, you’ll activate pigment with water to achieve luminous\, painterly effects. As you move through each stage\, you’ll see how the medium offers both expressive washes and fine detail – all with the stroke of a pencil. \nEach session will build on the last. First\, new techniques will be introduced. Then\, guided projects will give you the chance to practice them right away. Consequently\, your skills will grow consistently and your confidence will strengthen. By the end of the course\, you will have completed 2–3 finished renderings that showcase the versatility and beauty of watercolor pencil art. \nExperienced Artists Welcome \nIf you already have experience with watercolor pencils\, you’re encouraged to join as well. They are artistic interpretations of plants. He notices shapes\, light\, and shadows in the ground around him. He often focuses on a single detail – an individual leaf\, a flower\, or a small fragment of earth. In this way\, he brings those details to life. He has worked with colored pencil for several years and has taught the art for the past three. \nPhilip is currently teaching online from his home since March. SUMMARY:Everything Can Be Art with Vee Gunn
DESCRIPTION:What if a chipped teacup\, a ribbon\, an old shirt and a handful of beads could become something wonderful? At our after-school club\, that’s exactly the idea we play with:\, everything can be art — and art can be everything. \nEach week\, children explore a world of mixed-media materials — up-cycled clothing and fabrics\, pre-loved crockery\, beads\, buttons\, ribbons and more — transforming unexpected materials into artworks and keepsakes they’re proud of. Every session begins with a friendly guided lesson so no one ever feels stuck\, then opens up into plenty of room to experiment\, make choices\, and follow their own imagination. There’s no single “right” way to do it\, and that’s the whole point. \nOur club is built around a relaxed\, encouraging atmosphere where mess is welcome and every idea is a good one. Along the way\, children build real confidence — not just in making things\, but in trusting their own creativity — and they start to see the world a little differently\, spotting possibility and beauty in the most unexpected\, everyday objects. \nIt’s creative\, it’s hands-on\, it’s a little bit magical — and it gently plants big ideas about imagination\, resourcefulness and looking after our planet by giving old things new life. Your child will leave each week with something they made themselves\, and a growing belief that they are an artist. \nNo experience needed. DESCRIPTION:Settle in for Palette & Pours – a relaxed\, adults-only painting class where creativity and connection come easy. In this coastal-inspired session\, we’ll paint a lighthouse scene\, capturing the glow\, color and calm of the shoreline. \nThis isn’t your typical art class. It’s a chance to unwind\, sip\, and enjoy a creative night out. As you paint\, you’ll ease into the rhythm of the brush\, letting go of the day and enjoying the process as much as the finished piece. \nWhether you’re new to painting or have some experience\, you’ll feel right at home. Local artists Sandie Bacon and Lezlie Lenz guide you step by step\, offering tips and encouragement while leaving room for your personal style. \nBy the end of the evening\, you’ll head home with your own lighthouse painting – a peaceful reminder of a night well spent. \n \nOf course\, no Palette & Pours night would be complete without a glass in hand. All painting materials are included\, along with complimentary wine to enjoy while you work. Prefer something else? Bring your favorite beverage and sip as you create. \nSo grab a friend\, bring a date\, or come solo and make new connections. DESCRIPTION:As we close out 2026\, join Art Impact Project: Snow Globes and come create your own utopian “world” with this 2D drawing project. \nHow do you imagine your future world?  How would you like to see the planet exist?  What makes it your “perfect world?”  Reflect on these questions and leave with a fun drawing! \nAll supplies provided.  Ages 11+ \n \nThis class is free\, but spaces are limited and participants must pre-register.  \nCelebrating their tenth anniversary\, Art Impact Project is a local 501c(3) with a mission of enhancing emotional wellness through creative expression.  They partner with organizations such as schools\, treatment facilities\, libraries\, and other community spaces throughout Lake County\, to facilitate art programming with a focus on better mental health.  Providing a supportive\, small group setting\, Art Impact Project guides participant step-by-step through the creative process so everyone can experience the benefits of art.
