Some of the classes he taught at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York include Method Acting\, Comedic Improvisation\, Sketch Comedy Writing\, and Acting for Film and TV. He graduated from The Strasberg Institute at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he majored in drama. Madison is a member of the performance faculty in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Middle Tennessee State University. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nMatt Mueller is an actor\, musician\, former pirate\, and part-time wizard. Outside GDS his most recent credits include Harry Potter and Cursed Child\, and he’s excited to be back with the wonderful storytellers of Gorton Drama Studio after last summer in Neverland!!\n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nCarla Garippo\, dance teacher/choreographer\, received her professional dance training from Ruth Page Center for the Arts and was a principal dancer of The Ruth Page Civic Ballet Company of Chicago. She is fluent in Ballet\, Jazz\, Tap\, Hip-Hop\, Modern\, Lyrical\, Contemporary\, Poms\, Pointe\, Musical Theatre\, Stretch/Conditioning and Character. Some of Carla’s credits include: The Chicago Tribune Charities production of “The Nutcracker ” at The Arie Crown Theatre\, Dirty Dancing\, Carnaval at The Victor Hotel\, Dance Chicago\, MTVs Sweet 16\, as well as various music videos and concerts nationwide. Carla teaches dancers of all ages and levels and is excited to be a staff member at Gorton Drama Studio.

DESCRIPTION:The Annual Halloween Character Talent Show \nStep behind the curtain and into the hilarious world of The Annual Halloween Character Talent Show! Every year\, Halloween’s most famous characters gather to compete for the title of the year’s biggest Halloween star. While the audience enjoys the show\, the real fun happens backstage. Big personalities clash. Friendly rivalries grow. Plus\, unexpected mishaps keep everyone laughing. \nThroughout this musical theater production\, students will build their acting\, singing\, and dancing skills. They will rehearse from an original script. They will create memorable characters\, learn songs and choreography\, and explore comedic acting. Along the way\, they will work together to bring this funny Halloween story to life. Every student will have the chance to shine through featured roles\, solos\, duets\, small-group scenes\, and ensemble numbers. \nPerformance: The session ends with a fully staged performance for family and friends. DESCRIPTION:POP STARS & PERFORMERS\nStep into the spotlight and perform like a pop star! In this high-energy musical theater class\, students sing\, act\, dance\, and build confidence. Along the way\, they strengthen acting skills\, stage presence\, vocal technique\, and ensemble work in a fun and supportive environment. \nStudents will perform songs and scenes inspired by hit musicals and pop anthems\, including This Is Me\, Shake It Off\, Roar\, Brave\, and selections from High School Musical and The Greatest Showman. First\, instructors introduce a curated list of material. Then\, students help choose which songs and scenes they will rehearse and perform. \nThroughout the session\, students rehearse scenes\, learn group and small-ensemble songs\, and practice simple choreography. As they rehearse\, they will strengthen storytelling skills\, develop memorable characters\, and grow as confident performers. At the same time\, they will build teamwork\, creativity\, and stage confidence. \nPresentation: The session concludes with a presentation for family and friends. This Level Two presentation features scenes and songs that students have rehearsed throughout the session. DESCRIPTION:HOLLYWOOD CASTING CALL \nLights\, camera… action! Students step into the world of film\, auditions\, and on-screen performance in this high-energy one-day musical theater experience. Students will sing\, act\, dance\, and perform in a holiday-themed musical revue. Along the way\, they will bring classic Christmas stories\, favorite holiday songs\, and memorable characters to life. \nFirst\, students will build acting\, singing\, and performance skills. Then\, they will strengthen stage presence\, develop memorable characters\, and learn to work as a strong ensemble. Throughout the session\, performers will rehearse scenes\, songs\, and choreography while preparing for a polished production. \nStudents may perform selections inspired by Elf the Musical\, The Polar Express\, A Charlie Brown Christmas\, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!\, White Christmas\, and other holiday favorites. \nAs a Level Three class\, students take an active role in the rehearsal process. Over 24 hours of rehearsal across six weeks\, they will tackle more challenging material\, memorize scenes and songs\, and refine their performance skills. At the same time\, they will build confidence\, strengthen teamwork\, and grow as performers. \nEach class includes scene work\, vocal rehearsals\, choreography\, character development\, and ensemble activities. Every rehearsal moves the cast one step closer to opening night. \nPerformance: The session concludes with a fully staged performance for family and friends.
