Fascial Stretch Therapy is a neuromyofascial manual therapy method which focuses on the connective tissue system rather than isolated muscle treatment. It is good for balance\, flexibility\, and stress – regular Tai Chi practice can improve overall physical health and well-being. In fact\, Harvard Health suggests Tai Chi might be “…the perfect activity for the rest of your life.” \nAs a form of exercise\, researchers in Toronto found Tai Chi is equivalent to brisk walking. So\, instead of worrying about your steps (how boring)\, join Ken’s Tai Chi class and have some more fun while you exercise. \nUnlike other forms of exercise\, Tai Chi movements are performed with relaxed muscles and a focus on deep breathing. After working out a plan for basing the band on Country music\, Bourbon Country started entertaining fans and friends throughout Chicagoland and Wisconsin. When Nathan moved to California\, Warren Pohl joined Bourbon Country bringing decades of successful band experience\, and a plan to bring a classic rock genre to complement the country music. While continuing to deliver country hits from the past and present\, Bourbon Country has evolved once again with the addition of seasoned music professionals\, Jody and Paul Fields\, Jim Seidel\, and Wade Frazier. Together they have decades of successful individual and band experience from jazz\, theater\, rock\, and country. In addition they have created one of the strongest vocal bands around. Bourbon Country has influences varying widely from Johnny Cash and Garth Brooks to the Carpenters and everything in between. DESCRIPTION:Camp will run August 8-10 from 12:30-4:00pm.  This camp is for children between the ages of 8-10 and must be of age at time of camp.  Have a 5-7 year old?  Register for Safety Town Majors here!\n\nOur Safety Town Commanders Camp is modeled after the original Safety Town\, but with a curriculum built for the next level\, ages 8-10.    The focus of this camp will include a review of the original Safety Town (Majors) and will go in-depth with experts in areas ranging from fire safety to internet safety and beyond.  Topics will cover many categories pertinent to this age group including what to do if your alarm goes off\, gun safety\, walking home alone\, falls\, poison/medicine safety\, bullying/cyber bullying and mindfulness which includes yoga.\n\nCamp is dynamic and interactive\, with various what-if scenarios being played out and group discussions moderated by a certified teacher.   Children will learn everything from how to use a fire extinguisher to how to navigate safely in today’s cyber world and more!\n\n\nWe are proud to have the following experts teaching our camp: \n\n\nLake Forest Police Department: \n\nLFPD will teach the kids safety awareness and self defense in a fun/interactive way!  They’ll creatively cover topics such as gun safety\, bike and skateboard safety\, what to do when you are home alone and cyber safety/online stranger danger.\n\nLake Forest Fire Department:  \n\n\n\nLFFD will teach kids about everything from fireworks safety to first aid\, to even demonstrating a sprinkler system with a real-live fire in the safe confines of their smokehouse.  This prompts a discussion about home fire prevention and escape plannning.\n\n\nK9 Reading Buddies of the Northshore:\n\n\n\nK9 Reading Buddies of the Northshore will bring their therapy dogs on site and teach the campers all about pet safety!  Topics covered will include what to do if a scary or unknown dog approaches and the do’s and don’ts around dogs.\n\n\n\n\nStephanie Bersh with Simply Bee Counseling :\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStephanie Bersh is the resident Yoga Teacher at Simply Bee.  She has been practicing yoga for the past 15 years and teaching the past four years and is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. \nStephanie will talk about mindfulness and how to handle bullying or witnessing bullying.  She’ll do a fun yoga session with the kids so they can learn about the mind/body connection and how important it is to our health. \n\n \nLFOLA will teach our kids all about outdoor safety\, tick safety\, poisonous plants that are indigenous to our praries\, and why it is so important to get off our screens and get outdoors! \n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nIF YOU ARE A TEEN ENTERING THE 8TH GRADE IN THE FALL OF 2022 OR OLDER\, AND ARE INTERESTED IN BEING A COUNSELOR\, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM
