DESCRIPTION:No Country for Mothers: \nNo Country for Mothers explores the culture surrounding American motherhood and why both the ‘girl boss” and “trad wife” labels ultimately distract us from the real issue: the lack of support for American families. \nFollowing activist Reshma Saujani\, the film charts a growing national movement to reunite moms across divisions and win the kind of historic support families actually need. \nThe evening includes time to mingle beforehand with snacks and beverages\, the film itself\, and a conversation afterward for questions and reflection. \nSponsored by Golan Christie Taglia and BARTESIAN \nMoms First: \nMoms First is a movement fighting for paid leave and affordable\, accessible child care. We educate\, innovate\, and advocate for the social and political policies that moms need and deserve. Our vision is a country that values motherhood and works in support of moms and families. \nNewcomers’ Club of Lake Bluff and Lake Forest\nThe Newcomers’ Club of Lake Bluff and Lake Forest is an all-volunteer social organization founded in the 1950’s to promote friendship among new residents and to help them become active members of the community. Today’s Newcomers’ Club has over 225 members and a wide variety of ongoing activities – something for everyone! \n
