SUMMARY:Old Heart Film and Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Secure your early-bird tickets – prices will increase the day of the event. \nWinner of five best feature awards at festivals in Los Angeles\, Chicago\, New York and Poland\, Old Heart has also won 15 other awards at festivals around the world for acting\, directing\, cinematography\, editing\, costuming and the screenplay. \nPresented to over 150 audiences in America and Europe\, Old Heart continues to screen across America and Europe. Screening dates are here. \nAdapted from Peter Ferry’s award winning novel\, Old Heart tells the story of Tom Johnson\, an American soldier who is part of the Allied liberation of the Southern Netherlands in the fall of 1944. He works with Jewish translator\, Sarah van Praag\, to smuggle food and supplies to starving residents of northern cities trapped behind Nazi lines. They also fall in love. \nSixty years later\, in the summer of 2005\, Tom foils his family’s plan to move him to an assisted living facility by taking a flight to the Netherlands. He is determined to find Sarah again\, the love of his life. \nAcclaimed by critics\, this bittersweet love story will play across America\, the Netherlands and Canada. The screenplay has won seven best feature awards at festivals worldwide. \nThere will be a panel discussion following the screening of the film.
