Drawing inspiration from one of history’s greatest artists and thinkers\, Leonardo da Vinci\, this camp introduces students to classical techniques that continue to influence artists today. \nOver the course of five interactive sessions\, students will receive direct instruction and guided practice in the foundational skills of portrait drawing. The program fosters not just creativity but also collaboration\, resilience\, and problem-solving—skills essential to any creative career. \nOpen to high school students ages 14 to 18\, this experience is perfect for beginners and seasoned storytellers alike. Whether you’re curious about filmmaking or already passionate about media\, this is your chance to grow\, create\, and connect. \nAbout the Program\nNow in its 5th year\, New Media Summer Stories gives students the chance to collaborate with peers who love filmmaking. Together\, they produce a meaningful short film that follows the guidelines of the All American High School Film Festival’s Complete Experience. \nEach student takes on a role in Pre-Production\, Production\, or Post-Production\, depending on their interests and experience. The Pre-Production phase starts 10 weeks before filming. At that time\, organizers share the prompt and rules with all participants. \nStudents form a writing team\, and they select a producer and director based on experience and creative vision. They also organize departments for each stage of production:

In this immersive\, hands-on camp\, your child steps into the exciting role of a roller coaster engineer\, tasked with designing and building some of the wildest\, most thrilling rides imaginable. \nFrom the ground up\, campers will construct working models of classic amusement park attractions like Ferris Wheels\, spinning rides\, and high-speed roller coasters using RoboThink’s innovative STEM-based kits. \nThroughout the week\, students will dive into the world of mechanical engineering\, learning key principles such as motion\, force\, gear ratios\, and structural design. Each challenge is designed to foster creativity\, critical thinking\, and teamwork as campers problem-solve their way through the design process and test their creations in real time. \nBut it’s not just about nuts and bolts—RoboThink Land encourages campers to think like inventors\, collaborate like engineers\, and express themselves like artists. Whether they’re reimagining a loop-de-loop coaster or engineering a new spin on a teacup ride\, your child will gain valuable STEM skills in a fun\, supportive environment where experimentation and innovation are always encouraged. \nBy the end of the camp\, your child will not only have a deeper understanding of how amusement park rides work\, but also the pride of having built them from scratch—plus the confidence to keep dreaming\, building\, and exploring the world of engineering long after camp ends. \nAges: 7 – 12 \nWhy STEM Education Matters:\nParticipating in a STEM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Mathematics) camp like RoboThink provides a wealth of developmental benefits for children: \n\nCritical Thinking & Problem Solving: Kids analyze and solve real-world challenges\, boosting their decision-making skills.\nCreativity & Innovation: Students are encouraged to think outside the box\, experimenting with designs and solutions.\nSTEM Knowledge: Engaging in engineering\, math\, and technology concepts makes learning fun and accessible.\nCollaboration: Working in teams\, children build communication and teamwork skills\, learning to collaborate effectively.
