SUMMARY:EV Junior Fashion and Sewing Camp
DESCRIPTION:Calling all future fashion designers! This exciting camp invites young fashionistas to explore their love of sewing and style in a fun\, supportive space. If your child loves colors\, fabrics\, and creativity\, then this is the perfect place to start. \nThroughout the week\, students jump right into designing. First\, they create small-scale outfits on their very own mini mannequins. Then\, they design custom jewelry to match their looks. In addition\, they enjoy fun fashion-themed games that spark imagination and teamwork. They also design stylish paper doll outfits and experiment with different patterns and textures. \nWith step-by-step guidance from our EV Fine Arts instructor\, students build confidence as they learn real sewing skills. They practice using a sewing machine and\, most importantly\, they sew a custom outfit they can proudly wear home at the end of the week. Every project encourages creativity\, independence\, and self-expression. \nAt the end of the week\, excitement fills the room during our “Fashion Show Friday.” Students walk the runway and proudly showcase their handmade creations for family and friends. It’s a joyful celebration of everything they designed and created! \nPlease note that students enjoy two snack breaks during each 3-hour session\, so be sure to pack a snack. No experience is needed. This camp welcomes all youth ages 4–6 who are ready to create\, design\, and shine! \n \nElena Victoria is a local fashion designer who has gone on to find her true passion in teaching youth how to design and sew their own clothing and jewelry through her program\, EV Fine Arts. Using collage\, stencils\, and layered materials\, artists add dimension and personality to every piece. \nAlong the way\, campers stretch their skills and try new approaches. Texture takes center stage\, encouraging them to think differently and create art that feels dynamic and alive. \nThis camp is a great fit for beginner to intermediate artists who are ready to explore painting in a supportive\, creative environment. \nWhat to bring: We provide all materials\, including canvas\, paints\, and brushes. A tote bag\, jeans\, jacket\, hat\, or pouch all work wonderfully. Then\, Maggie will provide the wool\, felting needles\, and step-by-step instructions you need to add a pop of wooly whimsy to your favorite piece. \nFirst\, you’ll learn the basics of needle felting. Next\, you’ll experiment with colors\, textures\, and simple designs. Finally\, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind creation that is both charming and handmade. \nSo\, if you enjoy trying something new\, this class is for you! Needle felting is creative\, relaxing\, and just a little bit daring. Give this delightfully risky craft a try! \nAges 12 & Up! (12 – 14 Year Olds Must Have An Adult) \n \nMaggie is the founder of Three States Fiber Art and has been needle felting since 2017\, when she picked it up just for fun. Since then\, she’s created everything from coasters to carrots to capybaras using wool and a pointy barbed needle. DESCRIPTION:Ready to take your painting to the next level?\nThis class is ideal for artists who already have some experience painting in Oil\, Acrylic\, Gouache\, or Pastel and are ready to grow their skills further. If you’ve been wanting to turn a photo into a painting or have started a piece but feel unsure about how to move forward\, this is the perfect opportunity to get expert guidance and renewed inspiration. \nEach student brings in either a reference photo or an unfinished painting to work on during class. From there\, artist and instructor Michael Latala provides hands-on\, individualized instruction to help you make confident artistic decisions. First\, he’ll show you how to evaluate your photo reference—guiding you in choosing what elements to include and what to leave out. Then\, through clear demonstrations\, he’ll help you resolve common issues like washed-out highlights or areas that have gone too dark to read. \nThroughout the class\, Michael gives each student personal attention. If you’d prefer to keep your canvas untouched\, he’s happy to demonstrate his suggestions digitally using Procreate on his iPad Pro. This digital approach allows you to visualize changes before applying them\, which can be especially helpful when exploring different color choices or compositional edits. \nImportantly\, this class is all about progress at your own pace. There’s no pressure to finish quickly. Instead\, you’re encouraged to slow down\, focus on what you’re learning\, and enjoy the process.
