SUMMARY:After School Art Club with Carole Pearlman
DESCRIPTION:Calling all artists! This after-school art class will not only provide an incredible outlet for self-expression but also help students develop motor skills\, visual-spatial skills\, and problem-solving skills. Each week a different artist will be featured to inspire students to create their own unique piece of art. This class can get messy\, so please wear old clothing or bring an apron/smock. For grades K – 3rd \nCarole Pearlman’s lifelong fascination with creativity began as a child\, in a neighborhood art class\, where making art in the backyard was the only agenda for an entire summer. Many art classes later Carole completed a BFA in painting\, a MEd in Educational Therapy\, and an MA in Developmental Psychology. Integrating the disciplines of art\, education\, and psychology Carole developed The Joy of Creativity Art program. Carole works as a facilitator of creativity with students ages 4 to 84! Through her teaching\, research\, and daily practice\, she believes that being creative is an essential part of a balanced life. Carole is a professional artist and certified teacher.

DESCRIPTION:Gorton warmly welcomes artists and creatives from diverse backgrounds! We are thrilled to announce that we are now providing studio space every Thursday\, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. This dedicated time slot allows participants to utilize our open studio space for their ongoing projects. It’s an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a creative environment and focus on your artistic endeavors. \nAs an added benefit\, we are delighted to have local artists Susan Sands and Joalida Smit on board. They will be present during the studio hours to offer guidance\, answer questions\, and provide valuable feedback. Their expertise and experience will undoubtedly enrich your artistic journey and foster a supportive community of like-minded individuals. \nWhether you’re a painter\, sculptor\, writer\, photographer\, or any other kind of artist\, our studio space is open to all forms of creativity. Join us on Thursdays to nurture your creative spirit\, collaborate with fellow artists\, and receive invaluable input from Susan Sands and Joalida Smit. SUMMARY:Art Making Workshop for Kids!
DESCRIPTION:Sign your child up to join Jennifer Evans with Periwinkle Art Studio for this fun and creative workshop! Participants will choose from an array of supplies to make a unique art piece: canvas\, weaving\, collage and wood shapes. Registration includes all materials to make one complete project. Ages 7 – 12 \nArt classes at Gorton provide your child with a structured environment to explore their creativity and experiment with different artistic techniques. It also offers them a way to express themselves\, their thoughts\, and emotions in a visual and tangible form. Students will be introduced to various artistic styles\, techniques\, and cultural influences from around the world that can help them develop an appreciation for diversity and different perspectives.
