SUMMARY:Back to School Sewing Camp with Ciao Bella
DESCRIPTION:This is the perfect camp to gear up for the school year! We will make projects that your creative camper can actually use for the upcoming school year. We are going to make two pencil cases\, trendy tote bags for the gym\, dance or after school activities\, fleece ponchos\, and PJ Pants! \nAll supplies\, including fabric\, sewing machines\, and sewing notions are provided. Students should bring a water bottle and snack everyday. \nThis camp runs on Monday\, August 7 – Friday\, August 11\, 9:30am – 12:00pm \nAges: 8 – 15 Years Old \n \nAt Ciao Bella Sewing it is our goal to teach budding fashionistas and designers all about the fun & creative world of sewing and fashion design. We love to be creative and share our passion for fashion and sewing with others. All of our sewing instructors have a strong background in sewing\, fashion and pattern design. We can’t wait to sew with you!

SUMMARY:Safety Town Commanders Camp 8-10 year olds 2023
DESCRIPTION:Camp will run August 8-10 from 12:30-4:00pm.  This camp is for children between the ages of 8-10 and must be of age at time of camp.  Have a 5-7 year old?  Register for Safety Town Majors here!\n\nOur Safety Town Commanders Camp is modeled after the original Safety Town\, but with a curriculum built for the next level\, ages 8-10.    The focus of this camp will include a review of the original Safety Town (Majors) and will go in-depth with experts in areas ranging from fire safety to internet safety and beyond.  Topics will cover many categories pertinent to this age group including what to do if your alarm goes off\, gun safety\, walking home alone\, falls\, poison/medicine safety\, bullying/cyber bullying and mindfulness which includes yoga.\n\nCamp is dynamic and interactive\, with various what-if scenarios being played out and group discussions moderated by a certified teacher.   Children will learn everything from how to use a fire extinguisher to how to navigate safely in today’s cyber world and more!\n\n\nWe are proud to have the following experts teaching our camp: \n\n\nLake Forest Police Department: \n\nLFPD will teach the kids safety awareness and self defense in a fun/interactive way!  They’ll creatively cover topics such as gun safety\, bike and skateboard safety\, what to do when you are home alone and cyber safety/online stranger danger.\n\nLake Forest Fire Department:  \n\n\n\nLFFD will teach kids about everything from fireworks safety to first aid\, to even demonstrating a sprinkler system with a real-live fire in the safe confines of their smokehouse.  This prompts a discussion about home fire prevention and escape plannning.\n\n\nK9 Reading Buddies of the Northshore:\n\n\n\nK9 Reading Buddies of the Northshore will bring their therapy dogs on site and teach the campers all about pet safety!  Topics covered will include what to do if a scary or unknown dog approaches and the do’s and don’ts around dogs.\n\n\n\n\nStephanie Bersh with Simply Bee Counseling :\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStephanie Bersh is the resident Yoga Teacher at Simply Bee.  She has been practicing yoga for the past 15 years and teaching the past four years and is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. \nStephanie will talk about mindfulness and how to handle bullying or witnessing bullying.  She’ll do a fun yoga session with the kids so they can learn about the mind/body connection and how important it is to our health. \n\n \nLFOLA will teach our kids all about outdoor safety\, tick safety\, poisonous plants that are indigenous to our praries\, and why it is so important to get off our screens and get outdoors! \n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\nIF YOU ARE A TEEN ENTERING THE 8TH GRADE IN THE FALL OF 2022 OR OLDER\, AND ARE INTERESTED IN BEING A COUNSELOR\, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM

Since graduating from DePaul University School of Music\, Dave has had extensive experience as a performer\, composer and studio musician. Highlights include the national tour of Jersey Boys\, co-writing and co-producing two national top-ten songs\, composing work for The Oprah Winfrey Show\, Nike and Allstate\, TV appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show\, Empire and Betrayal\, and tours to South Africa\, Cuba\, Spain\, Italy and Egypt. His debut solo guitar album Yoguitar\, Vol. 1 was released in 2016.
