DESCRIPTION:Coping with the Loss of a PetJoin Jessica from the Animal Hospital of West Lake Forest for a heartfelt session on understanding pet loss. This event is for anyone grieving a pet or supporting someone who is. \nPets are more than animals—they are family\, companions\, and sources of comfort. Losing them brings deep grief that’s often overlooked or misunderstood. Jessica will explain why this loss feels so intense and why it’s different from other types of grief. \nNavigating the EmotionsPet loss can trigger many emotions\, including sadness\, guilt\, loneliness\, and anger. These feelings are valid and real. Jessica will help participants better understand these reactions and explore the emotional impact of losing a beloved pet. Mourning a pet can be difficult in a world that may not fully acknowledge that loss. Jessica will talk about the lack of societal support and the importance of recognizing the pet-owner bond. \nFinding Healing and Offering SupportThis session offers tools and guidance for healing. Jessica will share strategies to help you move through grief and support others on their journey. Whether you’re personally grieving or want to be there for someone else\, you’ll leave with insight and compassion. \nEveryone Is WelcomeAll pet lovers are invited to attend. This session creates a safe\, understanding space to honor your pet’s memory and learn how to cope with loss from someone who truly understands. \nJessica is a CVT who has served the Lake Forest and surrounding communities at the Animal Hospital of West Lake Forest since 2004.  She is a wife and mother of 4 with 4 dogs of her own. She is passionate about helping navigate the various aspects of pet loss.

This bi-weekly one-hour practice will help release tension and bring you back into balance while opening\, lengthening and strengthening the body.  Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner\, this mindful flow class will leave you feeling renewed and energized.  Bring a mat and a water bottle. \nTraditional Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga that emphasizes the synchronization of breath and movement as practitioners flow through a sequence of poses. It combines the ancient practice of yoga with a modern approach that focuses on creating a fluid and rhythmic movement pattern. Vinyasa Flow is known for its creative sequencing and the way it allows practitioners to explore their bodies\, breath\, and minds in a harmonious way. \nTaking a yoga class can offer a variety of physical\, mental\, and emotional benefits including improving cardiovascular health\, reducing stress and tension and leaving you feeling more energized and revitalized. \nAreta has been teaching yoga in Lake Forest and in yoga studios along the North Shore for 10 years and is E-RYT 500 Certified. Areta’s passion is bringing yoga to EVERY BODY\, and has additional certifications in Meditation\, Adaptive Yoga for Disabilities\, Senior Yoga\, Love Your Brain for traumatic brain injury\, Yoga for Eating Disorder Recovery\, Yin Yoga\, and Yoga for 12 Step Recovery. Areta teaches yoga to inspire and empower physical well-being\, spiritual balance and awakening for everyday life. She is a long-time resident of Lake Forest and a disability advocate and volunteer yoga coach for the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA).

DESCRIPTION:Ready to take your painting to the next level? \nThis class is ideal for artists who already have some experience painting in Oil\, Acrylic\, Gouache\, or Pastel and are ready to grow their skills further. If you’ve been wanting to turn a photo into a painting or have started a piece but feel unsure about how to move forward\, this is the perfect opportunity to get expert guidance and renewed inspiration. \nEach student brings in either a reference photo or an unfinished painting to work on during class. From there\, artist and instructor Michael Latala provides hands-on\, individualized instruction to help you make confident artistic decisions. First\, he’ll show you how to evaluate your photo reference—guiding you in choosing what elements to include and what to leave out. Then\, through clear demonstrations\, he’ll help you resolve common issues like washed-out highlights or areas that have gone too dark to read. \nThroughout the class\, Michael gives each student personal attention. If you’d prefer to keep your canvas untouched\, he’s happy to demonstrate his suggestions digitally using Procreate on his iPad Pro. This digital approach allows you to visualize changes before applying them\, which can be especially helpful when exploring different color choices or compositional edits. \nImportantly\, this class is all about progress at your own pace. There’s no pressure to finish quickly. Instead\, you’re encouraged to slow down\, focus on what you’re learning\, and enjoy the process. DESCRIPTION:Are you or someone you know contemplating a divorce?  This workshop will help you to understand the best options for you and your family.  If a couple can communicate and be fair and reasonable\, divorce mediation is a path that allows a couple to make 100% of their own decisions about parenting\, financial and property divisions\, child support and alimony\, while allowing them to greatly minimize the negative impact of their divorce on their most valuable assets\, their children. \nMediation is also the least costly and quickest way to get through a divorce in a less stressful manner.  In this session\, you will learn about divorce mediation\, what it is\, how it works\, what it requires\, and why it is the healthiest and least expensive way to divorce. \nIf you cannot attend in-person\, you can contact Michael Cohen through his website at michaelsmediation.com to meet 1:1 to review this same information in a confidential manner. \nMichael Cohen is a divorce mediator in Lake Forest who is dedicated to helping families get through the stressful process of a divorce in the healthiest way for the couple and for their children.  During a successful career leading diverse teams for a large local company\, Michael trained at Northwestern University to gain his divorce mediation certification and has built a practice whose purpose is to help others.  Michael is a caring\, empathetic leader who will take the time to understand your passions and priorities\, and will guide you to help you create the best solutions for you and your families.

DESCRIPTION:Learning to breathe is an art form.  Allowing the breath to center and rebalance the body & mind is a practice.  Meditation helps to focus our energy and enhance our lives. Practicing breath and meditation can help with a variety of intentions including relaxation\, stress reduction\, focusing\, intention setting\, directing energy and more. \nEach session we learn how to use the breath in new ways to experience the life force within us and help to direct our energy through intentions.
