He has been practicing Tai Chi for 21 years and teaching Tai Chi for 12 years. In 2016\, he received a Gold Eagle certificate from Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association. certificate. Ken is also one of Grand Master Yang Jun’s Disciples for the Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan. DESCRIPTION:Cello Concert\n  \nA little over a year ago\, Drew was playing college baseball for the University of Louisville. During his time on campus\, he realized that he had lost his love for baseball and his passion for music was growing. Throughout the past year\, he has accumulated over 330\,000 followers on Tik Tok due to his unique musical ability and passion. Drew plays music by ear and brings a new twist to a wide variety of songs and has recently released two independent original albums. Due to the influence of social media\, a majority of Drew’s supporters have come from an International audience and on April 21 and 22\, 2023 he hopes to connect with his hometown and bring his music to a local platform. SUMMARY:Restorative Yoga Workshop with Areta
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to renew and restore your mind and body. Restorative yoga is a restful practice meant to “restore” the body. This practice allows you to help your body deeply relax\, still your mind\, balance your nervous system and release muscle tension. \nThe journey begins with Yin Yoga (gentle and longer holds) focused on awakening our meridian lines\, moving into Pranayama techniques\, using breath work for expansion\, control and quieting the mind and concluding with a guided meditation practice. This monthly self-care workshop will inspire you to bring these newly learned yogic techniques into your everyday home practice. \nThis workshop runs on Sunday\, March 19\, 1:00pm – 2:30pm \nAbout the instructor:\nAreta has been teaching yoga in Lake Forest and in yoga studios along the North Shore for 10 years and is E-RYT 500 Certified. Areta’s passion is bringing yoga to Every BODY and has additional certifications in Meditation\, Adaptive Yoga for Disabilities\, Senior Yoga\, Love Your Brain for traumatic brain injury\, Yoga for Eating Disorder Recovery\, Yin Yoga\, and Yoga for 12 Step Recovery. DESCRIPTION:Welcome artiststs and creatives of all backgrounds! Gorton is now offering studio space on Thursdays from 9:30am – 12:30pm. Participants will have access to our open studio space to work on current projects.  Local artists Susan Sands and Joalida Smit will be available for questions and feedback. \nOpen Studio will run every Thursday from 9:30am – 12:30pm – $35/Day \n*PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS  \nJoalida Smit is a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist turned full time artist. Through these fun workshops she brings together her two passions: art and psychology\, assisting teens to think about their full creative selves.

DESCRIPTION:Join Esther Gutierrez Sloan for fun workout! The major distinction of this program is that the joy\, fun\, and discovery are ongoing!! \nThe option of varying intensity levels from low to moderate to high is a choice that is ongoing throughout the class\, while moving to a myriad of enticing Latin\, Caribbean\, Spaniard and African beats.  Low impact and high impact options are also presented to choose from. \n-Esther offers an experience that averages  4000-4200 steps with varying degrees of intensity. \n-Total Body Training “TBT” Systems Methodology is used to maintain proper postural alignment and ensure muscular conditioning. \n-Pheripheral Heart Action PHA training methodology is used to work with aerobic intensity which is  optional and challenged based on the level that the participant chooses to execute the rhythmic steps \n-Using inline motion protocol\, moving from one end of the room to the other end makes the participant effectively and functionally use steps\, while working on balance and coordination by changing direction {lateral\, diagonal\, front\, backward). \nPropioceptive Neurological Facilitation PNF stretching is performed at end of session. \nThis class runs on Fridays\, 9:30am – 10:30am\n \nSALSArobics  was created by Colombian-born Esther Gutierrez Sloan.  Esther has performed SALSArobics on national television and local television in Illinois\, California\, Florida and New York. \nEsther has led SALSArobics classes\, exhibitions\, workshops and presentations at fitness conventions\, health clubs\, schools\, fundraising events\, ethnic festivals\, internationally and nationally. \nEsther was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2010 in recognition of her pioneering efforts to introduce authentic Latin rhythms and dance steps into aerobic exercise in 1989 when she created SALSArobics.
