ABOUT THE LAKE COUNTY FILM FESTIVAL:
Hosted by the College Of Lake County, the LCFF has shown hundreds of films to thousands of eager audience members in a county of over 700,000 people in a community underserved in the area of independent cinema.
The festival has a proud history of showing the early work of filmmakers like Mike Flanagan (Gerald’s Game, Hush), Chad Hartigan (Morris From America, This Is Martin Bonner), Alex Karpovsky (Girls), and Leah Meyerhoff (I Believe In Unicorns), but is also proud of all the great films shown by people that haven’t gone on to do anything else. The festival is deeply appreciated by filmmakers and fosters a bond between them and its engaging and enthusiastic audience. Several guests have gone on to produce work with the people they met at the festival. One group even made a film AT the festival.
