Rendezvous Arts is a chamber music and visual arts series started by several of the musicians of the Lake Forest Symphony. When the orchestra sadly folded, they wanted to find a way to continue to play for the friends that they had made from the Symphony’s audience – and so the plan to continue the orchestra’s Salon Series chamber music program was born.
Inspired by the rhythms and melodies of flamenco, jazz, classical, rock and the Balkan region, this performance features the unrivaled guitar artistry of two of the finest players of their respective generations. Their music is carefully balanced between blazing virtuosity and sheer beauty. Goran Ivanovic and Fareed Haque recorded two CDs together, Macedonian Blues and 7 Boats, to great critical acclaim, even getting the nod as top best acoustic guitar albums 2004 from acoustic guitar magazine.

I create textured imagery on canvas using clay, acrylic and prismatic oil that cures to an enamel-like texture. I am particularly interested in mazes of varying complexity. The maze represents pathways in life and pathways in the brain. The prismatic oil paint cures to a finish marked with unique marbled textures, representing the originality of each moment on any path. Stemming from the same idea, I create water features highlighting the meandering branchlike pathways that water carves into earth, sometimes based on natural landmarks, sometimes pulled from my imagination. I self-published a mix & match coloring book, ‘Connie’s Characters’, in 2021. Each page is split, allowing the top and bottom sections to flip independently. This book is filled with 20 switchable heads and bodies and room for the owner to design their own switchable characters. I am also a free-lance flutist and vocalist. I perform with Ensemble Dal Niente, Lookingglass Theatre, Fulcrum Point New Music Project and the Chicago Wind Project. My work can be seen and heard at constancevolk.com
