Gorton CenterJerry, George, Elaine and Kramer love soup! In this class, the fundamentals of Method acting are explored while filming an original and family friendly adaptation of the TV show, “Seinfeld – The Soup Jerk.” The Seinfeld gang obsesses over a new soup stand in the neighborhood and do their best to follow the soup jerk’s rules.
The necessary changes have been made to make the material work for kids. Students learn and practice the basics of acting such as hitting a mark, enunciation and voice projection as well as more advanced acting principles such as developing a character, developing a relationship and creating real behavior.
Rehearsals and filming are done on a set, in costume with props, camera, microphones, and lights. There will be multiple casts, which will allow everyone to have ample screen time. If a student misses any classes, Jeremy will do his best to cover the scenes that are missed.
The final product is screened at Gorton. The focus of the class is on learning about acting, learning life skills and having fun. No soup for you!
This class runs on Mondays, April 18 – May 23, 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Ages: 7 – 9 Year Olds
