Gorton CenterTake on the role of Charlie Bucket, Violet Beauregard, Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop or Mike Teavee and have a wild adventure at Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. The basics of acting such as hitting a mark, enunciation and voice projection as well as more advanced acting principles such as developing a character, developing a relationship and creating real behavior are explored.
The first four classes are spent doing acting exercises, character work, improvising in character and doing selected scenes from the story. The fifth class is a live performance in the Grotto Theater. Each student will present at least one scene. The focus of the class is on learning about acting, learning life skills and having fun. “You should never, never doubt something that no one is sure of.” – Willy Wonka
