Lake Forest Civic Orchestra at “Gortinia”
Join us for an outdoor “Ravinia” event in the Gorton Community Center parking lot in socially distant “lawn seats”. Three chamber groups have been formed from the members of the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra for this special outdoor evening of classical music. Gortinia in Lake Forest’s own backyard!
This year the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra celebrates its 32nd year as Lake Forest’s orchestra. It is a true community orchestra bringing professional and accomplished amateur musicians together from the area. Lake Forest Civic Orchestra has made it possible for people of all ages to use their musical talents and training throughout their lives.
Three ensembles will perform – High Strung, Quintangled and Twisted Metal:
“Lawn seats” will be sectioned off in our parking lot facing the stage. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy an evening of beautiful music! We will be selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic concessions in pre-packaged, unopened containers. Seating for this event is limited in order to comply with Illinois guidelines and we cannot exceed maximum capacity. We will have designated circles for your party that can accommodate parties of 2 to up to 6 people. All seating pods are spaced at a safe distance from each other.
$10/senior 65 and older and college students with an ID
Free to veterans and children under 12

YOU MUST CHECK-IN WHEN YOU ARRIVE! Please find the tented check-in table on the sidewalk in front of our building when you arrive. Due to contact tracing, it is imperative everyone checks in and receives a wrist band. We will direct you to your assigned space when you arrive.
Parking: You may park in our upper lot, across the street at the train station, and along the north side of Illinois Road.
Gorton Community Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.
By purchasing a ticket to an event at Gorton, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and/or I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending or participating in a Gorton program, event or activity and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my or my child(ren)’s attendance at Gorton or participation in a Gorton program, event or activity (“Claims”). On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Gorton program, event or activity.
