GortonPalooza 2021: Local Artists Music Jam
Join us at our very own GortonPalooza, Ravinia-style!
Wednesday, June 16th at 6PM in Gorton’s Parking Lot
In the event of rain, concert moves to theater socially distanced. We will be taking every precaution and adapting to updated IL Guidelines Regarding covid compliance. IF RAIN, SHOWTIME MAY VARY SLIGHTLY.
“Lawn seats” will be sectioned off in our parking lot facing the stage. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy local talent under the stars! Seating for this event is limited in order to comply with Illinois guidelines. We will have designated circles for your party that can accommodate parties of 2 to up to 6 people.
YOU MUST CHECK-IN WHEN YOU ARRIVE! Please find the check-in table on the sidewalk in front of our building when you arrive. Due to contact tracing, it is imperative everyone checks in. We will direct you to your assigned space when you arrive.
Parking: You may park in our upper lot, across the street at the train station, and along the north side of Illinois Road.
Gates open at 5:30pm / show is at 6!
Cash bar/concessions will be available for sale during the show.
Sisters Martha and Kay Clifford started performing together in 2015. Their soulful two-part harmonies evoke folk and Americana music at its best, while integrating several other genres. They have been performing at local music festivals in Chicago, Wisconsin and Ohio, mainly covering some of their favorite musicians such as Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, and Aretha Franklin. In 2018, Ryan McFadden joined them to accompany on drums and diversifying their sound.
Verdant is a cover band of Lake Forest High School Sophomores. The band features Ciara Carroll (drums/vocals), Adler Hermann (bass guitar/vocals), Tim London (lead guitar), Robert Medica (rhythm guitar) and Jack Taylor (lead vocals/keyboard/guitar).Verdant has performed at the 2020 & 2021 Lake Forest High School Talent Shows, 2020 CROYA Battle of the Bands and private functions. The band is excited to be part of Gortonpalooza this summer.
(findingloveamongmyecho) is a local band that plays an even mix of 90s Grunge, modern alternative, and 70s classic rock covers. The band began after lead guitarist Frank Pinn and lead vocalist and songwriter Casey Hippel were piecing together a band for the 2019 Committee Representing Our Young Adults (CROYA) Battle of the Bands after a successful cover of The Who’s “Behind Blue Eyes” at the 2019 Lake Forest High School Talent Show. John Pinn was drafted as rhythm guitarist, Jackson Lepkowski as drummer, and Fiona Carroll as bassist/keyboardist/backing vocalist. They’ve played dozens of public venues including a charity known as “Rock the Gazebo for a Cure” at Lake Bluff Gazebo at which $2,000+ was raised for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Lake Forest Club, Chief’s Pub in Lake Forest, and Penny Road Pub in Barrington.
Seating areas in our parking lot will be clearly designated and safely spaced.
All employees/volunteers have been educated and trained on the need for personal sanitation and hygiene as well as the sanitation of our facility and all employees/volunteers will be wearing PPE at the event.
Concessions are available for purchase.
Our restrooms in the building will be open. Use your mask when heading to the restroom. There will be plenty of hand soap and sanitizer on hand.
Pets are not allowed at this event.

Gorton Community Center will take and may use photos and videos from this event for its promotional purposes. Your attendance indicates your consent to the above.
Film and Event Refund and Cancellation Policy: There is no refund given for unused film or event tickets.

On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Gorton, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Gorton program, event or activity.
